KC Catholic Speaks!

I received this comment from wolftracker over at KC Catholic regarding the "30 things" tagging that has been running around these blogs. Enjoy!

Delena, of Traditional Catholic Mom, has asked me, wolftracker (of Kansas City Catholic) to respond to a meme (a chain letter-like request to answer certain questions). This meme asks a blogger to list 30 things about themself that are likely unknown. I find it an odd request–given that I have disclosed at least 330 things about myself on KCC (despite my anonymity–which ain’t what it used to be). Recently, a newer blogger (YoungSTLCatholic) responded to the same meme on the request of Rae at Quo Vadis Catholic. I will now respond to Delena’s request, using YoungSTLCatholic’s responses as a template, i.e., below are his responses with my additions after the – ‘s (dashes). (I did not want to take the time to cook from scratch.)

30 Things About Me That You May Or May Not Know:

1. I am a 3rd year law student--I was once a third year law student.
2. I have been a Knights of Columbus Grand Knight and Co-President of the St. Thomas More Society--I too am a KofC.
3. I am 23 years old--I was once 23 years old.
4. I graduated undergrad a year early--I graduated undergrad two years late.
5. I have lived in the STL area all of my life--I have lived in the KC area all of my life.
6. I was a history major as an undergrad--I majored in English Literature.
7. Despite my support for the TLM, I usually attend a Novus Ordo--I attend the TLM.
8. I started this blog because I was bored--I started mine in a period of temporary insanity which has not abated.
9. I live for baseball season--I lived for baseball season until I was 12.
10. If baseball season didn't end in September/October and not start again till April, I would probably fail out of school--I have eight guitars.
11. I really like chocolate chip cookies without nuts--I will not attend a guitar Mass.
12. I hate nuts and won't eat anything with them in it--I spent two years in a seminary and there were a lot of nuts in that particular one.
13. I live in Belleville now--I have never lived in Belleville.
14. I am currently training for a half-marathon with my girlfriend--I had a girlfriend once, whom I later married. We used to run together during law school days as well.
15. My girlfriend and I have been dating for over 4 years--My wife and I have been married 18 years.
16. I like tax classes--I hated tax classes and actually, my third year of law school, attended the class that took place ahead of mine just to be prepared when my attendance was actually required. The U.S. tax code is diabolical in more ways than can be counted.
17. I am obsessed with monkeys--I never think of monkeys.
18. I am deathly afraid of snakes--I used to be until I learned how to kill them, which is more often than I ever guessed out here in the country. I recommend a burning fire, if possible and just toss ‘em in. Otherwise, get a straight hoe, sharpen it with a bench grinder, and just have it around when you need it.
19. I can't swim, but I sure sink pretty well--I love swimming and do not fear drowning at all.
20. I like to read newspapers--I love to read newspapers, especially liberal ones, since I have a recessive masochistic gene.
21. I have only owned one car in my life and it now has 125,000 miles on it--I used to own that car and I put a good 200K on it. Sorry to have to tell you.
22. I have brown hair--90 percent (?) of mine still is.
23. I'm 5'9--As am I, if by 9 you mean inches.
24. I weigh 160--So am I–OK, OK, I’m 165.
25. I like to nap--Who doesn’t? Maybe Joe Stalin didn’t.
26. I am fascinated by canon law--As am I.
27. The study of Church history rocks my socks off--I would have put this differently.
28. I don't enjoy the study of theology--I do, as long as it is orthodox.
29. Philosophy makes my head hurt--Read it with a beer like I do, suddenly its so much more “philosophical.”
30. I want to live in Lincoln, IL at some point--I never have and likely never will.
